At the 2008 gathering of the Wilderness Guides Council, it was decided to have the next issue of Circles on the Mountain (the yearly magazine of the WGC) be an international issue. The theme is Vision.

• What do we mean by vision?
  
• What is our personal vision for the work we do?
  
• How does that vision inform our guiding?
  
• What is our role as guides in supporting people as they return with their vision?
  
• How has our vision of wilderness rites of passage changed from how we originally understood it from our teachers?
  
• And how do we envision our work evolving to meet the needs of our communities, our society, our planet?

We welcome your thoughts on these and other aspects of vision as it pertains to the work we do.

Submission of articles, essays, poetry, photographs and drawings related to the theme Vision are invited from guides and guide apprentices.Please include a short bio of yourself.
